This policy explains what personal information The Bloomsmith collects, why, and what we do with it. We keep it to what we need to run the business, and we never sell your information.
Who we are
The Bloomsmith is a registered business name of Primal Produce Ltd, registered in Ireland (company number 672058, registered office Colp East, Co. Meath). Primal Produce Ltd is the data controller for the information described here. For anything to do with your personal information, contact Nick at nick@thebloomsmith.ie or on 085 841 0390.
What we collect
- When you order or book: your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, what you ordered, and any notes you add, such as the names of people coming to a workshop.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We see the card type, the last four digits and the expiry date, but never your full card number.
- When you fill in a form on our site (contact, florist registration, workshop interest): the details you enter.
- Gift vouchers: the recipient's name and email address and your message, so we can send them the voucher.
- Farm News, our email newsletter: your email address, if you sign up. We use it only to send Farm News, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Our weekly florist availability list: your name, business and mobile number, so we can add you to our WhatsApp list.
- When you visit the site: basic, anonymous statistics about which pages are visited, and the cookies described in our Cookies Policy.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To take your order or booking, deliver your flowers, run your subscription, workshop or flower farm programme and contact you about it. This is needed to carry out our contract with you.
- To keep accounts and VAT records, as the law requires.
- To send florists our weekly availability list on WhatsApp, to tell people who registered interest about the florist workshop series, and to send Farm News to people who sign up for it. We only do this with your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form. You can withdraw it at any time by replying STOP or contacting us.
- To answer your questions and enquiries, and to keep our website secure and working. This is in our legitimate interest in running the business.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with the companies that help us run the business, and only what they need:
- Stripe, to process payments.
- WordPress.com (Automattic), which hosts our website and shop, provides our site statistics and sends Farm News.
- Google Workspace, for our email.
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you join our florist availability list or message us there.
- Our accountant, for our accounts and tax returns.
Some of these companies may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they use safeguards approved under EU law, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. We will also share information if the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep order and payment records for 6 years, as Irish tax law requires. We keep enquiry and registration details for as long as they are useful, and delete them if you ask us to or withdraw your consent. If you have an account on our website, you can close it at any time by contacting us.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, to have it moved to another provider, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Just contact us and we will respond within one month.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if anything changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
