The Bloomsmith is a flower farm in Co. Meath run by Johanna and Nicky Hughes.

Johanna is the creative brains behind the farm. She decides what we grow, grows it, and has the eye for colour and style that makes our flowers what they are. Nicky is the donkey. He does the heavy lifting, the deliveries and the business side, and runs our mentoring programme for new flower farmers. Through the summer we grow dahlias, cosmos, snapdragons, sweet peas and much more, and through the winter our own foliage and dried flowers. We also keep bees on the farm.

Everything is grown and cut here, so it is fresher, lasts longer and has travelled a lot less than imported flowers. Whether you are a florist, planning a wedding or just love having flowers in the house, we would love to grow for you.

What we do

• Flower delivery - regular buckets of seasonal flowers for businesses and homes
• Mentoring - a 12-month programme for people starting their own flower farm
• Shop - flowers, foliage, dried flowers and more
